We are publicizing the matter at the request of our Reader. In an email to the editorial office, he wrote:
I had a train from Bolesławiec to Zebrzydowa at 10:39. I arrived at the station at 10:28. I did not have a ticket. Both windows (nos. 1 and 3) were open. A man was standing at the first one, talking to the ticket clerk about connections to some city. Importantly, the window was occupied for quite a long time.
At 10:35, I decided to approach window no. 3. The ticket clerk told me to return to window no. 1. I said there was a queue there and asked whether she could sell me a ticket. She replied that she could not.
I waited a little longer. At 10:38, the train was announced. Meanwhile, window no. 1 was still occupied. I approached window no. 3 again. The woman once again refused to sell me a ticket. […]
That is how things are with our PKP. I was left without a ticket and had to pay an additional PLN 5 on the train for having one issued.
In the evening, I took a photo with my mobile phone showing the hours when window no. 3 is open. It was open precisely when I wanted to buy a ticket, but the woman simply did not feel like printing one. I certainly will not let the matter rest.
The man wanted to file a complaint against the ticket clerk. However, he was told that to do so he would have to travel to Wrocław. He therefore decided that the matter was not worth the trouble.
As we managed to establish, each ticket office at the PKP station in Bolesławiec is operated by a different company (one by PKP Intercity and the other by PKP Przewozy Regionalne). The press office employees of both companies were unable to say which one sells tickets at window no. 3. They asked us to send our questions by email. We sent them on August 18. So far, we have received no response.
