Exams no earlier than June

The final secondary-school exams and the exam concluding primary school will be postponed. They will take place no earlier than June. However, we will announce the specific dates at least three weeks before the exam dates.

In addition, all schools will remain closed until Sunday, 26 April. Until then—as before—schools are required to provide remote learning.

Covering the mouth and nose mandatory from 16 April

From Thursday, 16 April 2020, we are introducing an obligation to cover the mouth and nose. Every person in a public place will have to wear a mask, scarf or neckerchief that covers both the mouth and nose. The obligation applies to everyone in the streets, offices, shops, places providing services and workplaces.

We are also extending the safety rules currently in force.

The following remain in force until Sunday, 19 April 2020:

  • restrictions on movement;
  • a ban on minors going outside without adult supervision;
  • restrictions on religious events—no more than five people may be present in churches. The rule also applies during the Easter holidays!
  • restrictions on the operation of shopping malls and large-area DIY stores;
  • rules governing travel by public transport and vehicles with more than nine seats;
  • suspension of the operation of hairdressing and beauty salons, tattoo parlours, etc.;
  • a ban on using parks, forests, beaches, boulevards, promenades and city bicycles;
  • closure of restaurants;
  • limits on the number of people in shops, at markets and at post offices;
  • restrictions on the operation of cultural institutions, including cinemas and theatres.

The following remain in force until Sunday, 26 April:

  • closure of schools and universities;
  • preschools and nurseries;
  • suspension of passenger air travel;
  • suspension of international rail travel.

The following remain in force until Sunday, 3 May:

  • closure of the borders (the right to cross the Polish border remains available, among others, to Polish citizens, foreigners who are spouses or children of Polish citizens, people holding permanent or temporary residence rights in Poland, or a work permit;
  • mandatory quarantine for people crossing the border into Poland.

The following remain in force until further notice:

  • restrictions on organising mass events and assemblies.
