On Wednesday (12 August), the first-round Polish Cup match was played in Raciborowice. GKS Raciborowice (regional league) faced BKS Bobrzanie Bolesławiec. The hosts are coached by former BKS reserve-team coach Mariusz Rutkowski. Former BKS players Adrian Kulesza and Adrian Markowski also play in Raciborowice.

The Bolesławiec players will certainly want to forget Wednesday’s match as soon as possible. Overall impotence—that is how our players’ performance can be summed up. In the 7th minute, Kamil Mielnik hit the post. It was BKS’s only dangerous shot of the entire match. The hosts were somewhat nervous at first, but gradually began attacking with increasing threat. Rodak and Halczuk, among others, shot at Kizyma’s goal. In the 60th minute, Sylwester Rydzak fouled Adrian Kulesza in the penalty area. The BKS player received a yellow card, and the hosts had a chance to take the lead from the penalty spot. Dawid Kizyma saved Krystian Bączkiewicz’s shot, but was helpless when the same player followed up the rebound.

Bolesławiec had a chance to equalize a few moments later, when the referee awarded our team a penalty after a handball. Unfortunately, Paweł Rissmann’s shot was saved by the hosts’ goalkeeper. Piotr Juszczak also tried to finish the rebound, but missed terribly. The match ended with a 1–0 victory for GKS Raciborowice. It is difficult to write anything positive about BKS’s performance. Adam Klimas played well. The player, who fortunately has returned to our team, won the ball from the opponents several times after, among others, Mateusz Mucha’s turnovers. Goalkeeper Dawid Kizyma and Paweł Demczar also performed reasonably well. The rest of the players performed terribly. The team was nothing like the one from the friendly matches, when the opponents were much stronger. The hosts, meanwhile, played simple football and deservedly won. On Saturday (15 August), Bolesławiec will face Miedź II Legnica in the fourth-tier league. The match is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m.

BKS Bobrzanie lineup: Kizyma – Rydzak, Demczar, Klimas, Rajchel, Kunz, Mucha (46' Góralewski), Janczyszyn (46' Jasiński), Mielnik (60' Juszczak), Rissmann (75' Janicki), Popecki.
