The incident occurred on 6 March, before 3:00 p.m., in Tomaszów Bolesławiecki. Officers from the Traffic Division of the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters received a report of a road incident. KPP Bolesławiec:
The police determined that the driver of a passenger car made an improper right turn and struck another vehicle.
When the injured party realised that the driver who had struck his vehicle was intoxicated, he and the passengers in his vehicle detained the suspect and then handed him over to the police.
The perpetrator of the collision was completely drunk; a test showed nearly 3 per mille of alcohol in his exhaled breath.
The 68-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County had his driving licence confiscated. He could now face up to two years in prison and a driving ban of up to 15 years.
