On Thursday, 5 March, the County Crisis Management Team met in Bolesławiec, chaired by the county governor, Tomasz Gabrysiak. County officials:

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the actual risk of the coronavirus causing SARS–COVID–19 appearing in the county, as well as the preparedness of the services responsible for securing people suspected of infection, caring for sick people and separating them from those who had not been in contact with the virus.

The following took part in the meeting of the County Crisis Management Team:

  • the county governor—maintaining direct contact with all the voivodeship governor’s services whose responsibilities include providing assistance in emergency situations
  • the commander of the State Fire Service and the police commander—discussing the preparedness of the units, their supplies and uniform-related needs in the event of an emergency
  • the directors of the ZOZ and the County Sanitary and Epidemiological Station in Bolesławiec—indicating procedures to be followed if suspected infection is identified or a full-blown illness develops.
  • The director of the Regional Hospital for the Nervously and Mentally Ill also attended the meeting, assuring those present that, if necessary, the unit under her authority was ready to support preventive measures.

Representatives of local governments from across the county and the head of the Crisis Management Department at the county office also took part in the meeting. Those gathered were instructed to provide residents—through all available sources—with verified, reliable information aimed at improving public safety and maximally limiting the potential spread of the virus.
