At the weekend, the footballers of the Lower Silesian fourth tier began the new season. The competition promises to be interesting. Chrobry Nowogrodziec have returned to the fourth tier. Twardy Świętoszów are also among the Lower Silesian fourth-tier teams.

BKS Bobrzanie – Karkonosze Jelenia Góra 0–0

On Saturday, BKS Bobrzanie played away in Jelenia Góra. The match against Karkonosze ended 0–0. The following players made their debuts for our team: in attack, Adam Popecki (formerly of Górnik Złotoryja); in defence, Łukasz Bednarz (formerly of Górnik Polkowice) and Piotr Halkowicz (returning from a loan spell at Mewa Kunice).

The BKS starting lineup also included Dawid Kizyma, Sylwester Rydzak, Paweł Demczar, Mateusz Mucha, Kamil Mielnik, Mateusz Janczyszyn, Daniel Góralewski and Paweł Rissmann. Both teams had several chances to score. Popecki, Janczyszyn, Góralewski and Mielnik shot at the Jelenia Góra goal. Paweł Rissmann missed a one-on-one opportunity with the goalkeeper. The hosts also had their chances. The Jelenia Góra side came closest to scoring when Bijan hit the post and Kowalski struck the crossbar. The match ended with the points shared.

Chrobry Nowogrodziec – Miedź II Legnica 0–0

On Sunday in Nowogrodziec, local side Chrobry hosted Miedź II Legnica. The hosts had more shots on goal. The Legnica goalkeeper twice saved his team from conceding. First, Kusiak produced a dangerous shot, and towards the end of the match the Miedź goalkeeper struggled to save Misiurek’s free kick. The match, however, was not an enthralling spectacle. The fans saw plenty of play in midfield and many inaccurate shots. Chrobry Nowogrodziec – Miedź II Legnica 0–0.

Twardy Świętoszów – 1985 Szczawno Zdrój 2–0

The match between Twardy Świętoszów and 1985 Szczawno Zdrój ended in a surprise. The newcomers impressed and claimed all three points. Twardy defeated Szczawno Zdrój 2–0, with goals from Iskrzak (35th minute) and Ganczarek (55th minute). The Świętoszów side’s victory could have been more emphatic, but the hosts failed to convert several good chances, including a penalty.

Polish Cup competition on Wednesday

The first round of the District Polish Cup will be played on 12 August. BKS Bobrzanie will play at 5:30 p.m. in Raciborowice against local side GKS. The hosts are currently managed by Mariusz Rutkowski, until recently the coach of BKS’s second team. Chrobry Nowogrodziec will face local side LZS in Łaziska at the same time. Twardy Świętoszów’s opponent will be Sparta Zebrzydowa. That match will also be played on 12 August in Zebrzydowa. Kick-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. GKS Tomaszów Bolesławiecki will host Czernych Lwówek Śląski. Kick-off is at 5:30 p.m.
