The office accepts items from finders—belongings worth more than PLN 100. Most commonly, these are bicycles (many of them very valuable), phones, wallets, often containing cash, cameras, keys to apartments and cars, and power tools. Documents—such as identity cards and passports—are handed over by the office to the authority that issued them: the starosta, mayor or commune head.
How can you collect your property?
You should describe it in detail, providing the office employee with as many details as possible that are necessary for identification. Invoices or receipts confirming the purchase, warranty cards and similar documents are very helpful.
The employees of the lost property office also search for the owners of the items, provided that the belongings can be identified. A list of the items is displayed on the information board and is also available in Room 301 of the building at 12 Armii Krajowej Street, tel. 75 612 17 51. It is also published in the Public Information Bulletin at www.powiatboleslawiecki.pl.
Please remember that if you find potentially dangerous items, such as weapons, ammunition or explosives, you must immediately call the police and clearly specify where they are located.
