Due to cases of African swine fever (ASF) in wild boars, part of Bolesławiec County has been included in the yellow zone. (We reported on this already in December last year.)

The situation is even worse in Lubusz Voivodeship, where a red zone has been introduced. (Details on the map.)

Investigations are under way to determine how many police officers are hunters and how many of them may take part in the so-called sanitary culling of wild boars. There are several hunters among the officers of the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters, including Senior Aspirant Rafał Janiec from the station in Kruszyn, a member of the Cyranka Hunting Association in Bolesławiec.

It is possible that officers from our county will take part in such an operation. “We are ready for it and are waiting for decisions from our superiors,” says Rafał Janiec.
