This means that residents will soon be able to start applying for funds to replace their boilers. Formal procedures related to the signing of the agreement by the project Leader are currently under way.
Grants will be available to residents wishing to replace non-environmentally friendly solid-fuel boilers and stoves, mainly coal-fired ones (so-called smog-belchers). The project applies exclusively to single-family buildings. Homes with a good thermal standard (that is, insulated and sealed) will be given preference.
Under the grant, replacements with heat pumps will be possible, as will gas installations, biomass boilers and electric heating installations (provided that they are powered by energy from the owner’s photovoltaic system). Replacement with oil-fired boilers or coal-fired boilers (even the most modern ones) is not permitted.
The leader and operator of the project is Stowarzyszenie Wolna Przedsiębiorczość in Świdnica.
Funding for residents under the project now being launched will amount to 85 percent of the eligible costs of the new heating installation, but no more than PLN 35,000.
It is worth remembering that:
- The basic, though not the only, condition for obtaining the grant will be for the interested resident to take part in the grant competition.
- The competition for residents will be announced by the Project operator/Grant Provider. The competition for residents is expected to be launched in March 2020 (NOTE: this date is only tentative and may change, especially in the event of delays in signing the project funding agreement).
- When the competition is announced, detailed rules will be presented, including the competition criteria, the application procedure, the rules for evaluating applications, and templates for competition and application documents.
Preparatory activities related to residents’ participation in the competition
- Residents will soon be offered comprehensive support in assessing and rationally selecting heating technologies, taking into account the individual technical and energy-related circumstances of their buildings.
- This support will be made available to interested residents both at the pre-competition stage (that is, already in February and March 2020) and during the competition (March–April of this year).
We will provide details in the near future, as the project Leader finalizes the organizational and preparatory activities.
