For Mariusz Paluch, this exhibition was an extraordinary event. The tattoo artist and graffiti artist was able to show works he had created more for himself than for a wider audience.
The audience gathered at the exhibition opening unanimously considered this debut very successful. Gutek’s works are graphically beyond reproach. The subject matter is highly emotional, which also appealed to the audience. His works contain many emotions expressed through such means as tears, ecstatic poses or, quite literally, a heart muscle pierced by a nail. The artist’s technique also deserves attention: very good linework and composition. He enjoys drawing hands. They are his hands, and each painting featuring them shows a stage in the artist’s life. The painting of a blue bird holding a key in its beak is the most significant painting for Mariusz. Within the frame of his hands, he painted his own figure in a pose expressing happiness and freedom. It is a symbolic and important painting for him, showing that painting and creativity are his own path to happiness.
The exhibition is very interesting. It is worth visiting in its own right or while visiting Forum cinema. It will be open until 30 January 2020.
