Last week, we wrote that the decision to transfer the shares of the Bolesławiec Water and Sewerage Company free of charge to the city and municipality of Bolesławiec was expected to be made later this month. On Friday, June 26, an agreement on the municipalization of the company was signed in Warsaw.
The State Treasury transferred shares worth PLN 11 million to the “Bóbr” Intermunicipal Association (that is, the Urban Municipality and Rural Municipality of Bolesławiec). What will this change? As Ireneusz Maszko, the company’s president, emphasized in an interview with the IstotneInformacje.pl portal, thanks to the municipalization, PWiK will become the property of the local community rather than the Minister of the State Treasury. “Decisions will be consulted with the city and municipality of Bolesławiec, not with the ministry,” the president added.
