On Saturday, November 9, a volleyball and basketball game were played at Primary School No. 1 in Bolesławiec as part of the National Independence Day celebrations. In the volleyball match, Bolesławiec local government officials faced a team of American soldiers stationed at the Bolesławiec garrison. The local government officials prevailed, winning 2:0 in sets.
In the basketball match, soldiers from Bolesławiec’s 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment faced their colleagues from the American communications battalion (40th ESB Alpha Co Assassins FRG). This match also ended in a victory for our team, 86:61.
During the break between the adult matches, young female basketball players who train under the supervision of Jarosław Leszczyński presented an exhibition basketball game on the court. A three-point shooting contest was also held, in which volunteers from the audience could demonstrate their skills.
The sporting events were organized by the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre in Bolesławiec.
