On 8 November, the winners of the film competition entitled “When You Hate the World, You Gain Nothing” were announced at the “Orzeł” Cultural Integration Centre in Bolesławiec. The competition was organised by Bolesławiec Municipal Police as part of the Safe Bolesławiec project.
The competition was addressed to Year 7 and 8 pupils at primary schools. The young people were tasked with creating a film addressing the issue of hate in today’s world. From all the submitted entries, the committee selected four winning films, which were presented to the audience in the CIK film auditorium.
The clear winner was the film “The Message” by Maksymilian Żukowski, Wiktoria Zimerman and Tomasz Wolański from Primary School No. 2 in Bolesławiec.
The jury awarded second place to Julia Zarówna, Maja Madziarz and Oliwia Ostrycharz from Primary School No. 5 in Bolesławiec for the film “#HeyYou”, while third place went to Kamil Pietrzak, Oscar Dąbrowski and Agata Kowalczyk from Primary School No. 5 in Bolesławiec for the film “When You Hate the World, You Gain Nothing”.
A special mention went to pupils from Primary School No. 1: Karolina Sacher, Natalia Mlak and Alicja Jakóbczyk for the film “About Hate”.
The Safe Bolesławiec project was placed under the honorary patronage of the Mayor of Bolesławiec. The municipal authorities also funded prizes for the winners. Substantive support was provided by employees of the “Orzeł” Cultural Integration Centre.
