The incident occurred after 7:20 p.m. on the access road to Gromadka from the direction of Krzyżowa. The tanker truck (24 tonnes), carrying ammonia, went into a ditch on a bend in the road. The driver was crushed by the cab. He died at the scene. He was 66 years old and lived in Lubin.
The vehicle had registration plates from Polkowice.
A special chemical unit and a lifting vehicle were called to the scene.
The road between Krzyżowa and Gromadka is completely blocked. Drivers are asked to use the detour via Różyniec.
