The Bolesławiec City Hall website has just published an announcement with the telling title “Bolesławiec’s local government backed into a corner, forced to restore the tax on residential premises.” City Hall officials:
The Bolesławiec City Hall is currently analyzing the city’s 2020 budget. The main task is to secure funds for paying teachers’ increased salaries. The government announced well-deserved pay rises for teachers, but did not transfer the full amount of money from the state budget that should have been paid to teachers.
What does this mean for residents?
The city:
Due to the situation, the municipal authorities in Bolesławiec are forced to restore the tax on residential premises. It is worth recalling that the exemption from tax on residential buildings or their residential parts, as well as on other land, has been in effect in Bolesławiec since January 1, 2015, during a period of stable financial conditions for the city.
Further budget analyses indicate reduced revenue for the city budget in connection with the reduction of PIT under the so-called Kaczyński Five. The analyses also indicate increased public-service costs due to higher electricity prices, higher prices of services and construction materials, and increased labor costs.
Officials add:
Tax reform, pay rises for teachers, and rising service costs are placing a dramatic burden on the Bolesławiec city budget, consequently affecting the municipal authorities’ previous tax policy.
