On Wednesday, October 23, a patrol of the Jelenia Góra Municipal Police went to a property in the city centre, where a sick and neglected dog was reportedly located.
At the scene, the officers found a Labrador lying in the yard. The dog had difficulty moving and was breathing very heavily. Wounds were visible on its head, ears and paws.
The officers said:
Due to the real threat to the animal’s health and life, it was taken to a shelter for small animals for observation.
The municipal officers managed to establish who had been “looking after” the dog recently. The documentation from the intervention was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office, which is conducting further activities in the case.
Let us recall that abusing an animal with particular cruelty may carry a sentence of up to five years in prison.
