Within just one day, four drivers lost their driving licences for three months. This was the result of actions by officers from Bolesławiec and Zgorzelec as part of the provincial SPEED group.

The fastest was a 37-year-old resident of Lubań County, who was driving at 128 km/h in a built-up area. The second driver stopped was a 58-year-old resident of Polkowice County. The man exceeded the speed limit by 60 km/h.

The next two road pirates were a 46-year-old resident of Brzeg and an 18-year-old resident of Bolesławiec. Both drivers were speeding at more than 100 km/h in a built-up area.

All four lost their driving licences for three months and were also given fines and penalty points.

Police:

We remind you that under the applicable regulations, any road user who exceeds the speed limit in a built-up area by at least 50 km/h will lose their driving licence for three months. The document is taken directly by the police officer conducting the roadside check.

If, despite the ban, such a person continues to drive a vehicle, the period for which their driving entitlement is withdrawn will be extended to six months.

And adds:

If the situation occurs again during this period, the starosta will issue a decision withdrawing the person’s driving entitlement. This will mean that they have to take the driving test again.
