Organizers:

The Olympiad has been held continuously since the Bolesławiec Municipal Police was established and enjoys enormous interest. The event is intended to raise young children’s awareness and familiarize them with basic road-safety rules, introduce them to the principles of first aid, and develop environmental awareness by teaching waste segregation.

Each of the prepared events, in which a total of 140 young competitors took part, greatly helped familiarize the children with these rules—primarily through play and a little competition.

The Olympiad took place in the sports hall of Primary School No. 1 in Bolesławiec. Fourteen teams from the city’s public and private preschools participated. Each team consisted of 10 people—5 girls and 5 boys. As usual, the event had enthusiastic support from fans who came to accompany and cheer on the young competitors.

During the sporting contests and fun, participants could learn the basic road signs in events such as the Car Race and the Good First-Aid Kit. (The competitors had to assemble a road sign from puzzles and test their knowledge of first-aid kit contents.)

The Smart Waste Sorting event, which involved sorting waste into the appropriate containers, confirmed that education in this area from an early age can produce results later on.

The Firefighting event, connected with fire-safety rules, brought great joy to the competitors and teachers. The fire was put out using buckets filled with balls. Most importantly, the children learned how essential cooperation is.

Bolesławiec Municipal Police:

Ultimately, all the competitors deservedly took first place on the podium. Each competitor won a prize for themselves and for their preschool; the prizes were funded by the Mayor of Bolesławiec and the Social Building Society in Bolesławiec.

The uniformed officers add:

We sincerely thank the director of Primary School No. 1 in Bolesławiec for making the gym available, as well as everyone involved for their cooperation and kindness in organizing the event.
