Students of the Zespół Szkół Elektronicznych are building an underwater robot with sensors enabling them to examine water quality. The other countries participating in the project—Germany, Italy and Romania—have been given the same task.
The third meeting במסגרת the Erasmus+ project – European Water Investigation (EUWI) was held in the last of these countries, at the Technical College of Communications Nicolae Vasilescu – Karpen in Bacău. The Bolesławiec “Elektronik” community:
In addition to discussing work on the devices and presenting the research progress, the hosts arranged a cultural programme so that, during just two days, we could get at least a little acquainted with the city and Romanian culture.
As for the city, it should be said that Bacău is a major industrial centre, so we visited its largest plant, Aerostar, where components for Airbus aircraft are produced. We were able to admire the impressive work being done on the powerful aircraft; for security reasons, however, taking photographs was prohibited.
The trip to Lake Bacău 2 was enjoyable; it is an example of the successful revitalisation of a body of water. A local environmental organisation (The Regional Center of Environment) successfully restored the biologically degraded reservoir, which had been damaged during the communist era. Thanks to its efforts, the lake and the surrounding area are clean and once again attract animals.
The hosts showed us the region’s cultural heritage—we visited the salt mine in Targu Ocna and the lovely mountain resort of Slanic Moldova, famous for its natural mineral (sulphur) springs.
The Bolesławiec “Elektronik” was represented by its supervisors: Kamilla Dudek and Krzysztof Zawada, as well as the brave students: Jakub Gwiżdż from class 3E; Dominika Hanysz and Amelia Kulik from class 2H.
