Local news portals—including istotne.pl—report on oil spills on roads essentially as they happen. Comments from internet users who completely downplay the matter often appear afterward. The editorial team of the Facebook service Lwówek na sygnale addressed this:
Often, when we post information that the fire service is neutralizing an oil spill and the police are securing the area, comments appear such as: why so many firefighters, it’s only a small oil spot, unnecessary panic, etc.
And added:
As an example, we are showing a video from today from Lwówek County [...] What happens to the asphalt on a beautiful sunny day, when, from the driver’s point of view, it appears that they are driving on a safe road? But is that really so????
