ZNP President Sławomir Broniarz, as reported by TOK FM, stressed that as part of the protest, teachers would not participate in weekend competitions or activities organized on days off. Asking parents for “small” favors for the school their child attends is also supposed to come to an end.
“The Minister of National Education is constitutionally responsible for everything that happens in the sphere of education. We do not want—as we are sometimes forced to do—to ask parents to repaint the school, bring equipment for classrooms, or help us conduct the educational process. The minister is responsible for all of this,” the president of the Polish Teachers’ Union added at a press conference.
Let us hope that, finally, we will stop baking cakes for fairs that we have to attend and buy from, bringing donated items, painting classrooms, buying carpets and cabinets for classrooms, and stop painting them and contributing money toward classroom equipment. And let us hope that the Polish government will equip our schools with all the necessary supplies. What do you think of such a strike? You can write your opinions in the comments.
