A community refrigerator is a space where anyone can share food with anyone else. “Share—don’t waste food you cannot use. Help yourself—take free of charge whatever you feel like” is the idea behind a community refrigerator.
The first community refrigerators appeared in Wrocław. They began to be installed by the weźpomóż.pl foundation. One of the foundation’s founders is Jan Piontek, who, in agreement with the Municipal Social Welfare Centre, also brought a refrigerator to Bolesławiec.
