It most often begins with mild knee pain, clicking in the hip, difficulty moving the shoulder or the common “lower back pain”. Very often, these complaints result from overload and minor injuries accumulating over time. Unfortunately, in nature nothing simply disappears. Injuries do not either. They tend to accumulate if recovery does not proceed properly. And it is well known that a tired body has a great deal of trouble regenerating. Therefore, when it can no longer cope on its own, it begins to ask for quick help. That is when the pain begins.

Pain: the body’s warning mechanism

Pain is nothing other than our body’s defensive and warning mechanism. When it hurts, it is a sign that something is happening. The body cannot communicate the problem in any other way. It cannot. That is why it activates pain. If we do not respond in time, the situation unfortunately often becomes considerably worse. It rarely “goes away on its own”. Most often, we feel temporary relief, but our condition unfortunately deteriorates soon afterwards. This is when we most often ask a specialist for help. Patients most commonly see a doctor or a physiotherapist. Both choices are good. It is likely that the patient will ultimately see a physiotherapist anyway. A good physiotherapist will have no trouble selecting appropriate treatments and therapies for the patient’s problem. In the case of an overloaded musculoskeletal system lacking recovery, physical treatments and individual therapy methods may be recommended.

Our services

Laser therapy – works very well for complaints related to local problems, such as overload, strains and mild inflammation. The main purpose of laser therapy is to accelerate the metabolic processes taking place in the tissue and, as a result, speed up healing and the withdrawal of symptoms. An absolute contraindication is an active neoplastic process at the treatment site.

Electrotherapy – there are many types of currents used in this case. In severe pain, TENS is naturally used. Its main effect is analgesic. Treatment with interferential currents, also known as Nemec currents, can also be performed. The expected effect is improved tissue trophism, meaning nourishment and elimination, an anti-oedematous effect and muscle exercise. Electrical stimulation may also be useful, especially for muscles weakened by immobility, while also providing pain relief. In cases of muscle overload, galvanisation and iontophoresis based on it, meaning the introduction of medication using an electric current, can also be performed.

Therapeutic peat packs – an excellent solution for very busy people, as the treatment has a strongly relaxing, warming and anti-inflammatory effect. It uses one of the greatest natural resources of Central and Eastern Europe, including Poland. It helps exudates to be absorbed, relieves pain and inflammation, and improves circulation. The treatment itself is very pleasant: the peat is applied warm, and during the 20–30-minute treatment one can relax wonderfully. The treatment cannot be performed in cases of skin damage or infectious skin diseases.

Paraffin packs – cause intensive hyperaemia, while the heat released into the tissues remains for up to two hours. The muscles become more flexible and less susceptible to pain. Blood circulation in joint capsules and muscle attachments improves, which increases the range and comfort of movement. Paraffin packs are not recommended for women during and after menopause, as they may contribute to increased calcium release from the bones and worsen osteoporosis.

Light therapy – for people with pain and inflammation, a physiotherapist may also recommend irradiation with a Sollux lamp fitted with a blue or red filter. It alleviates complaints, accelerates healing and soothes irritation. It uses the effect of infrared light on the tissues. The light penetrates deep into the tissues, relaxing and warming them.

Massages – touch has a highly relaxing effect on the body. A massage performed by a professional can bring great relaxation, relief and rest to tired tissues. Massage has many forms. A physiotherapist may use the properties of hot stones and aromatherapy, which intensify the feeling of relaxation.

MBST – an innovative method that has been available on the Polish market for over three years. The number of patients who are very satisfied with its results continues to grow. It is the most technologically advanced method because it uses the properties of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). It causes very intensive tissue regeneration, beginning with muscles and tendons, continuing through the joints and ending with bone tissue. Most importantly, the regenerative effect lasts for up to four years! The therapy is available at 12 selected centres in Poland, including our centre in Bolesławiec.
