In recent days, some ZUS customers have received messages through various channels—both text messages and emails—requesting that they complete an application to settle their health insurance contributions for September.
As CERT warns, the messages contain malicious software that can infect a computer, block access to files or intercept sensitive data, such as electronic banking logins and passwords. If you receive such an email, it is best to delete it immediately.
“Customers who receive fake messages are contacting our offices, hence our appeal not to open them,” says Iwona Kowalska-Matis, ZUS regional press spokesperson in Lower Silesia. “CERT Polska has already issued a warning, informing people that clicking the link immediately infects the computer,” the spokesperson adds.
