The incident occurred on 29 August, after 6 p.m., in Dąbrowa Bolesławiecka (Bolesławiec commune). Officers from the Bolesławiec traffic police stopped a vehicle for inspection. It was driven by a 40-year-old resident of Nowogrodziec commune. In a built-up area where the speed limit was 40 km/h, the man was driving at 92 km/h.
The road pirate lost his driving licence and also received a fine and penalty points.
Bolesławiec police:
We remind you that, under the applicable regulations, any road user who exceeds the speed limit in a built-up area by at least 50 km/h will lose their driving licence for three months. The document is confiscated directly by the police officer conducting the inspection.
The officers add:
If, despite the ban, such a person continues to drive a vehicle, the period of licence confiscation will be extended to six months.
If the situation occurs again during that time, the starosta will issue a decision withdrawing the driving entitlement. This will mean that the person will have to retake the driving test.
