During Saturday’s gala, 43 films created during the 10-day workshops were screened. Forty young artists from across Poland took part.
The Legnica Film Academy is one of the oldest and most important workshops in Poland, where children and young people from across the country learn to make animated films independently. During this year’s edition, the young filmmakers worked under the guidance of outstanding animation experts, including Piotr Nawrocki and Adam Michałowski, puppet makers associated for many years with the SeMaFor studio in Łódź; Magdalena Bryll, daughter of Ernest Bryll and an acclaimed animator by profession, co-creator of, among others, the Oscar-winning “Peter and the Wolf”; and Julian Zawisza, the creator of the Legnica Film Academy.
After watching 43 films entered in the competition, the jury presented the following awards:
- in the under-12 category – distinctions for the youngest participants,
- in the 13–14 age category: 1st place – “Z kamerą wśród zwierząt” by Hanna Sieradzka,
- in the 15–16 age category: 1st place – “Dziwadło” by Magdalena Sieradzka,
- in the 17-and-over category: 1st place – “Nie mam głowy do kapeluszy” by Marta Grzegorek.
