A resident of Bolesławiec called us and asked us to return to the matter of Żołnierzy Wyklętych Street. (This concerns the residents of the building’s stairwells 5A, 5B and 7).
Reader informed us that there is still no road there, even though it is only 150 m long. What is more, parking was supposed to be prohibited there, because driving along this street is terrible—precisely because of the large number of parked cars.
The man added that the police had issued a positive opinion on installing a no-parking sign, but the Bolesławiec Municipal Gmina did not agree to it.
Agnieszka Gergont, spokesperson for Bolesławiec City Hall:
As for introducing a no-stopping restriction along the retaining wall (+ a speed limit on this section), the manager of the homeowners’ association of the building at Żołnierzy Wyklętych 5A, 5B and 7 submitted requests in 2016 and 2017. The Infrastructure, Spatial Planning and Construction Committee of the Bolesławiec City Council and the Municipal Police issued negative opinions, while the police issued a positive one, along with a proposal for speed bumps.
Since this section is mainly used for parking by residents of buildings managed by TBS, a relevant request for an opinion was also sent to TBS. TBS responded at the time that installing this sign would exacerbate the problems related to parking spaces.
After all opinions had been obtained and positions had been presented, it was decided that there would be no changes to the existing road signs.
There is also positive information for residents. Construction of the aforementioned road is planned for later this year.
