On 4 July 2019, the President of the Republic of Poland signed the Act of 13 June 2019 amending the Teachers’ Charter Act and certain other acts.
What does this mean for teachers?
From September to December, the average salary of teachers is to increase by 9.6 percent. As reported by dziennik.pl:
The pay rise is to be paid by 30 September 2019, with retroactive payment from 1 September 2019.
The portal adds:
The justification for the draft amendment stated that, after this pay rise is implemented, the basic salary of a trainee teacher will amount to PLN 2,782 gross (an increase of PLN 244 gross), that of a contract teacher to PLN 2,862 gross (an increase of PLN 251 gross), that of an appointed teacher to PLN 3,250 gross (an increase of PLN 285 gross), and that of a certified teacher to PLN 3,817 gross (an increase of PLN 334 gross).
