Teresa Rudzińska, an educator with extensive experience, deputy director of the District Centre for Education and Staff Training and head of the Psychological and Pedagogical Counselling Centre, and Cezariusz Rudyk, director of PCEiKK, received acknowledgements from Jadwiga Bobek, head of the Society of the Friends of Children, on 27 June (during a session of the Bolesławiec County Council) for their educational and therapeutic work benefiting children and families affected by violence and various addictions, who struggle with raising children and with their own limitations. The cooperation between TPD, PCEiKK and the Counselling Centre has continued for many years. It even predates Poland’s signing of the international Convention on the Rights of the Child (1991).
Coordinated efforts to protect children from physical and psychological violence in families began much earlier. Training was provided for people at risk of violence: how to deal with it, how not to succumb to it, how to protect their own families, and how to teach children not to repeat bad experiences.
This represents a huge amount of educational and therapeutic work—psychological, pedagogical and social rehabilitation—to lead a dysfunctional family onto the path of mutual respect and love.
