Officers from the Border Guard Post in Zgorzelec seized tobacco products estimated to be worth nearly PLN 1,200,000.
At a property in Zgorzelec County, officers uncovered 400,000 cigarettes without Polish excise stamps, with a total value of more than PLN 280,000.
More illegal goods were seized on the A4 motorway. In a van stopped for a roadside inspection, Border Guard officers found 1.3 million illegal cigarettes worth more than PLN 912,000.
The three men travelling in the van were detained. The suspects did not plead guilty. They were placed under police supervision and banned from leaving the country.
Further proceedings in the case are being conducted by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec.
