On Wednesday (June 26), a test match was played at the stadium on Spółdzielcza in Bolesławiec for current and future members of the BKS Bolesławiec senior team. Despite the holidays and truly African heat (37 degrees in the shade), around 20 footballers took to the pitch. This made it possible to play the match with full squads.

In the test encounter, the Reds defeated the Blues 4–0. It is still too early to say who will leave, who will stay and who will join the team from Spółdzielcza. Everything should become clear around August.

Wednesday’s test match can nevertheless be treated as a preliminary game before official preparations for the new 2019/2020 season begin.

After the recently concluded 2018/2019 season, the BKS Bolesławiec senior team finished 13th in the IV league table. Unfortunately, the 27 points earned by Sebastian Tylutki’s players were not enough to secure their place in the IV league. They were 3 points short of safety—in other words, one win. With 30 points, the Bolesławiec side would have overtaken Sparta Grębocice in the table and thereby secured their place in the IV league. Thus, everything indicates that BKS will play in the regional league next season.

There is still a faint chance that things will turn out differently. Bolesławiec may retain its place in the IV league if another team withdraws from the competition or if one of the IV-league clubs does not receive a license to play at that level.
