A reader wrote to us via WhatsApp about cars parked beneath the city hall high-rise, on the Orka side:

On the other side, by the cinema, there is an entire parking lot, although it is paid, while on the Orka side there is a line of cars, with only 2 spaces designated for people with disabilities, and around 8 cars are parked there—all the way to the bicycle shelter. Nobody cares that, firstly, there is an access ramp for people with disabilities there, and secondly, since there is a parking lot on the other side, the cars should be parked there.

And added:

The same picture every day. Officials aren’t sacred cows.

Agnieszka Gergont, spokesperson for Bolesławiec City Hall:

If the width of the pavement left for pedestrians is such that a car does not obstruct their movement and is no less than 1.5 metres, such parking is permitted.

But she immediately added:

At the location described, signage will be installed so that situations in which access to the ramp for people with disabilities is obstructed do not occur.
