The incident, reported to us by Readers, took place on Friday, June 7, after 7:00 p.m. A group of young people decided to explore the viaduct, even though this is prohibited. They walked along the tracks, jumped onto the barrier and moved around the traction poles.
The matter was reported to the police. However, when the officers arrived at the scene 15 minutes later, the offenders were no longer there.
During the last week of March, the services intervened in the area around the viaduct as many as three times. First, on March 21, a 19-year-old from Bolesławiec decided to take a walk on the viaduct’s railway tracks. The result? Almost all the services arrived. (There was concern that he was another would-be suicide victim.) It turned out that this was not a suicide attempt, but… a walk. The teenager was fined 50 zlotys. The following day, at around 5:30 p.m., another person was walking on the viaduct. The police received another such report, but when the officers arrived at the scene, the walker was no longer there. On Sunday, March 24, after 9:00 p.m., a man called the emergency number and reported that his friend wanted to jump from the viaduct. Within a few minutes, firefighters, police officers and an ambulance crew were already at the scene. It turned out that the boy had come down from the viaduct on his own. He explained that he had only wanted to look around.

Officers appeal: let’s not treat the viaduct as a viewing terrace.
Let us recall. In July last year, we reported that the municipal monitoring operator had observed two young people on the railway tracks on the Bolesławiec viaduct. The two were – as if nothing had happened – walking along the tracks toward Ceramiczna Street. A Municipal Police patrol was immediately sent to the scene. The officers observed that, when a maintenance vehicle passed, the young people lay down beside the barrier separating the tracks from the viaduct ramp. When the walkers noticed the officers, they began fleeing toward Dolne Młyny. The pair was apprehended and fined.
Municipal Police officers:
Although we have repeatedly written about the danger brought upon themselves by people who enter the railway viaduct despite the prohibition, incidents of this kind continue to occur.
What is the penalty for walking on the viaduct?
The Bolesławiec Municipal Police once again reminds everyone that entering the viaduct is dangerous. What is more, it carries a fine of up to 500 zlotys.
