Elżbieta Witek, the new head of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration, will replace Joachim Brudziński in this position, as he has become a Member of the European Parliament.
E. Witek was born on 17 December 1957 in Jawor (Lower Silesia). She graduated from the University of Wrocław’s Faculty of Philosophy and History with a master’s degree, and also completed postgraduate studies in knowledge of the European Union at the Historical Institute of the University of Wrocław.
For many years, she worked as a teacher and principal of Primary School No. 2 and the Comprehensive School Complex in Jawor.
The new head of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration is a Member of the Sejm during its 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th terms, as well as a member of the Political Committee of Law and Justice. From 2015 to 2017, she was a minister without portfolio, head of the political cabinet of the Prime Minister, and government press spokesperson.
On 4 June 2019, at the Presidential Palace, Minister Elżbieta Witek received her appointment as head of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration from President Andrzej Duda and took the oath of office.
