Young athletes from across Lower Silesia came to the event organized by Międzyszkolny Klub Sportowy Bolesłavia. Children and teenagers competed on the tracks and jumping facilities, while adults – the mayor, the Bolesławiec county head, the president of the Polish Athletics Association and the president of the Athletics Centre in Bolesławiec – signed an agreement intended to promote the “queen of sports,” facilitate access to sports facilities and encourage young people to take part in competitions.
The programme, called “Athletics for Everyone!”, also aims to jointly plan and develop athletics facilities in Bolesławiec, support training and organize events.
The Polish Athletics Association undertook to submit all jointly agreed activities for assessment at the Ministry of Sport and Tourism. The aim is to improve sports and training infrastructure. The PAA will also provide financial and educational support for events in Bolesławiec and help train coaching staff. In return, the City and the County will provide free access to the facilities and equipment necessary for competitions organized by the Athletics Centre in Bolesławiec. Because athletics is meant to be for everyone!
