On Sunday afternoon, officers from the Road Traffic Division of the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters stopped the driving licences of drivers who exceeded the speed limit in a built-up area by more than 50 km/h.
The first driver was caught after 3:00 p.m. in Trzebień. The 28-year-old resident of Bolesławiec was speeding through the village at 104 km/h.
The second vehicle was checked after 4:00 p.m. in Kozłów. It was being driven by a 43-year-old resident of Żagań County.
The officers stated:
Both drivers disregarded road traffic regulations and therefore lost their driving licences for three months. They were also fined PLN 400 and received 10 penalty points.
The police add:
We remind you that, under the regulations currently in force, any road user who exceeds the speed limit in a built-up area by at least 50 km/h will lose their driving licence for three months. The document is taken directly by the police officer conducting the inspection.
If, despite the ban, such a person continues to drive a vehicle, the period for which their driving entitlement is withdrawn will be extended to six months.
If the situation occurs again during that period, the county governor will issue a decision withdrawing the driving entitlement. This will mean that the person will have to retake the driving licence examination.
