Officers from the Economic Crime Unit of the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters caught a 47-year-old man suspected of trading in illegal goods red-handed.

The officers established that customers could once again buy tobacco without Polish excise stamps at a legally operating shop. (The State Treasury’s losses were estimated at more than PLN 1,000.) Police are investigating where the seized goods came from.

The 47-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County faces up to three years in prison, as well as heavy financial penalties.
