On Saturday afternoon, the Bolesławiec traffic police stopped two passenger cars for inspection in our county. The drivers had exceeded the speed limit in a built-up area by more than 50 km/h.

Both drivers were residents of Bolesławiec County, aged 48 and 64. The men lost their driving licences for three months and received PLN 400 fines and 10 penalty points.

Police officers:

Statistics show that excessive speed is the cause of many tragic road incidents.

And they remind drivers:

Under the applicable regulations, every road user who exceeds the speed limit in a built-up area by at least 50 km/h will lose their driving licence for three months. The document is confiscated directly by the police officer conducting the inspection.

If, despite the ban, such a person continues to drive a vehicle, the period for which their driving privileges are withdrawn will be extended to six months.

If the situation occurs again during that period, the county governor will issue a decision revoking the person’s driving privileges. This will mean that they have to retake the driving test.
