From April 28 to 30, the second edition of the “Safer with Us” competition, organized by the Bolesławiec Municipal Police, was held in the auditorium of Primary School No. 2. The competition was addressed to students in grades 4–6 of primary schools and covered topics related to safety, environmental protection and first-aid rules.
The tournament consisted of three parts. In the first, the students solved a multiple-choice test; in the second, they answered questions orally; and in the third, they performed first-aid tasks.
Sixteen teams took part in the competition. In the grade 4 category, the team representing Primary School No. 4 won. Its members were: Karolina Domańska, Liliana Scelina, Artur Skalny and Karolina Wolska. The team from Primary School No. 2 took second place, while the team from Primary School No. 3 came third.
In the grade 5 category, the team from Primary School No. 4 proved to be the best (its members were: Korneliusz Rzeźwicki, Jagoda Marcinko, Anna Goleńska, Edyta Koziarczyk and Maciej Pańczak). The team representing Municipal School Complex No. 1 won second place, while the team from Primary School No. 2 came third.
On the final day, sixth-grade students competed. The hosts’ team won (its members were: Wojciech Liebert, Bartosz Orlak, Kacper Koryluk, Sebastian Drabczyk and Filip Górny). The team from Municipal School Complex No. 1 finished second, while the team from Primary School No. 4 came third.
After the competition, participants had the opportunity to watch a demonstration of pre-medical aid prepared by Zbigniew Herbut from the Bolesławiec branch of the Polish Red Cross and female students from the General and Vocational Schools Complex in Bolesławiec.
All the children demonstrated extensive knowledge of safety and excellent familiarity with first-aid rules. The level was very high and even. On each day of the competition, a tiebreaker decided the allocation of the top places.
