In the friendly match played in Zgorzelec on Saturday (23 February), BKS Bolesławiec defeated Piast Wykroty 3–0 (1–0). The goals for our team were scored by Damian Puzio, Adrian Biały and Daniel Ziółkowski.
The result of Saturday’s match suggests that BKS won comfortably and in impressive style. Unfortunately, the facts are different, and this was the worst of Bolesławiec’s friendly matches so far. The players struggled to find their rhythm on the pitch, resulting in many turnovers and inaccurate passes. In the first half, Piast Wykroty looked slightly better than BKS Bolesławiec and imposed its rhythm. Despite this, chances in front of both goals were few and far between, while the battle was fought in the middle of the pitch. In the 35th minute, Marek Majka made an excellent run down the left and laid the ball perfectly for Damian Puzio. Popularly known as Puzon, he put the ball into the net, and we led 1–0 at halftime.
After the teams switched ends, our play looked considerably better, and we managed to put the ball into the net twice more. In the 56th minute, Filip Zagórski found himself one-on-one with the Piast Wykroty goalkeeper. The opposing goalkeeper saved the BKS midfielder’s shot, but the ball fell to Adrian Biały, who made it 2–0 without difficulty. The third goal was scored by Daniel Ziółkowski. Ambitious Piast tried to score a consolation goal, but luck was not on their side that day and they had to go without one.
The positive result is pleasing, but we cannot be satisfied with the style in which it was achieved. Hopefully, things will look better in the next friendly matches.
