“Winter and Colourful” – the Museum of Ceramics invites you to holiday workshops
Activities during the winter school break at the Bolesławiec museum have already become a tradition. As in previous years, we invite all children interested in having fun together to the Department of City History at 14 Kutuzowa Street.
This year’s workshops relate to the current “Winter Sports” exhibition, prepared from the collections of the Karkonosze National Park Museum in Vrchlabí. The exhibition inspired art activities during which children will create three-dimensional winter landscapes and snow globes, and weave colourful sweaters for paper bear figures.
Each workshop will be preceded by a short tour of the exhibition, with particular attention paid to interesting ethnographic exhibits characteristic of the Karkonosze region, such as horned sleighs, bobsleighs and interesting examples of old skis. The workshops will take place on 29–31.01.2019 and 05–07.02.2019 (Tuesday–Thursday), from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m..
The second thematic block will consist of classes entitled “On Friendly Terms with Archaeology”. During the meeting, participants will learn about the work of an archaeologist, its specific nature and the basic terms connected with conducting field research. The classes will include a presentation of archaeological exhibits and a discussion of the history of the most interesting finds. The classes will take place on 01.02.2019 (Friday) and 4.02.2019 (Monday), from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m..
All workshops are free of charge. Classes will begin on the hour and last approximately 45 minutes. The final classes will begin at 12:00 p.m. The classes will take place provided that a group of at least 5 people is formed. Activities will be adapted to the participants’ age. Those interested are asked to register by telephone at 75 644 22 00 or by email at poczta@muzeum.boleslawiec.net.
See you at the classes! During the winter holidays, admission to the permanent and temporary exhibitions is also free for children and young people.
