Bolesławiec criminal investigators, working with uniformed officers from the Wrocław Provincial Police Headquarters, found illegal tobacco while searching a property in Jelenia Góra County.

The 38-year-old man admitted that the goods belonged to him. Officers secured 310 packs of cigarettes and 60 cans of tobacco without Polish excise-duty markings.

Police are currently determining where the seized goods came from. It is estimated that if the illegal goods had reached the market, the State Treasury could have lost several thousand zlotys.

The 38-year-old from Jelenia Góra County could now face up to three years in prison, as well as substantial financial penalties.
