The incident took place on Thursday, January 17, after 9:00 p.m., in the village of Mierzwin (Bolesławiec municipality). For undetermined reasons, a fire broke out in a smokehouse adjoining a small woodshed.
The fire spread—first to the shed and then to the façade of a multi-family residential building. The latter building became smoke-filled.
The residents left the building on their own.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Three units from the County Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec took part in the operation, along with volunteer firefighters from Brzeźnik and Ocice.
