Jerzy Owsiak spoke out after the death of Paweł Adamowicz. “I am resigning from my position as president of the Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy foundation,” he said at a press conference.
“I will no longer lead the work of WOŚP. Thank you for an extraordinary finale. If I am not there, perhaps all those madmen who have Nazi ideas will feel better,” Jerzy Owsiak said at a press conference.
The head of WOŚP also referred to statements made by Krystyna Pawłowicz, which the MP directed at the Orchestra and Owsiak himself. He also referred to Barbara Piela, the author of an animation broadcast by TVP before this year’s finale. In the animation, former Warsaw mayor Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz uses Owsiak to collect money from unsuspecting people, while Owsiak himself is depicted as a wind-up puppet.
