Anyone who submits a statement that they cannot afford a lawyer will be able to use free legal assistance. The statement is signed during a visit to a lawyer at a free legal assistance office. Legal services will therefore be available to people with disabilities, seniors, homeless people, single mothers, people experiencing violence, people struggling with debt, and others.
During the visit, the lawyer will present the regulations applicable to the matter under discussion, explain the person's rights and obligations, and help resolve the problem presented. If necessary, the lawyer will prepare the required documents, including an application for exemption from court costs or for the appointment of a court-appointed representative. The eligible person will also be informed about the costs of proceedings and the financial risk associated with bringing the matter to court.
