On 3 January 2019, representatives of local government authorities, services cooperating with the Police, invited guests, as well as police officers and Police employees, in the presence of the Lower Silesian Provincial Police Chief in Wrocław, senior inspector Tomasz Trawiński, bid farewell to the retiring Chief of the Bolesławiec District Police, junior inspector Dariusz Borski, and the First Deputy Chief of the Bolesławiec District Police, junior inspector Ryszard Podbucki.
At the same time, the Lower Silesian Provincial Police Chief in Wrocław, senior inspector Tomasz Trawiński, entrusted the duties of Chief of the Bolesławiec District Police to inspector Norbert Kurenda, previously Chief of the Lubań District Police.
After the reports were submitted, the Lower Silesian Provincial Police Chief in Wrocław, senior inspector Tomasz Trawiński, spoke and thanked junior inspectors Dariusz Borski and Ryszard Podbucki for 27 years of service in the Police. The outgoing chiefs began their service together in December 1991 at the Zgorzelec District Police Headquarters. Later, junior inspector Dariusz Borski moved to Bolesławiec, where for many years he headed the Criminal Investigation Department. Meanwhile, junior inspector Ryszard Podbucki served in Lubań and Leśna in subsequent years as Chief of a Police Station. In December 2016, junior inspectors Dariusz Borski and Ryszard Podbucki jointly began leading the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters.
During the subsequent part of the ceremony, numerous guests took the floor. On behalf of all local government officials, Bolesławiec County Head Tomasz Gabrysiak thanked the outgoing chiefs for their cooperation; there were words of recognition and handshakes. The Bolesławiec County Head also welcomed inspector Norbert Kurenda, wishing him success in his new unit and fruitful cooperation with local governments for the safety of the residents of Bolesławiec County.
