On Friday, 21 December, a Nativity play performed by students of the special school was held in the gymnasium of the Powiatowy Zespół Szkół i Placówek Specjalnych.
As Sylwia Marcinko-Kozik, the head of the institution, said, the young actors put everyone gathered in the hall in the spirit of the Christmas season.
The floor was taken by Tomasz Gabrysiak, the Bolesławiec County head:
I have not seen a choir sing for a long time without a cheat sheet or songbook; from memory. It made a great impression on me; you can see the commitment, passion and immense amount of work.
The Christmas holidays are approaching. I wanted to extend my best wishes for Christmas and the New Year to the teachers, the headmistress, the parents and, above all, the children and young people.
The county head also shared the information everyone had been eagerly awaiting:
Today I can say with one hundred percent certainty that these are the last holidays spent in the building on Zgorzelecka Street. Work on building the new headquarters of the special school is nearing completion.
Yesterday, the Bolesławiec County Council adopted a new budget. We want the institution, firstly, to move to a new location and, secondly, to have new equipment. We allocated half a million złoty to purchase new furniture, desks and chairs.
There were also gifts, including gifts from representatives of the Bolesławiec Forest District, greetings and a Christmas Eve meal.
