The event is organised in cooperation with head chefs from Lower Silesian restaurants and hotels and aims to help children.
The community of the Complex of General and Vocational Schools named after Maj. Henryk Sucharski in Bolesławiec:
This year, as part of the Fair, we would like to support the rehabilitation of little Mikołaj. The boy was born on 21 January 2015 with a severe congenital heart defect in the form of HLHS (hypoplastic left heart syndrome). His left heart ventricle does not work. His entire circulation depends on the right ventricle. The child has now undergone four cardiac surgeries and numerous interventional procedures.
After the last one, he developed paresis of the lower limbs caused by an ischaemic stroke of the conus of the spinal cord. This is an extremely rare condition, and the only things that can be done are intensive rehabilitation and adapting Mikołaj to moving independently in a wheelchair.
The child has also been diagnosed with a submucous cleft palate, left-sided vocal-fold paralysis and left-sided hearing loss.
The school community adds:
Despite all these obstacles, Mikołaj is a very cheerful and grateful little boy. Through his everyday attitude, he proves how much he wants to live. His parents do everything they can to provide him with the best possible conditions and quality of life, as well as professional medical care. Mikołaj undergoes rehabilitation every day with qualified therapists and his parents, which requires considerable financial resources.

Join us at the Fair with Heart!
The fair will take place on Tuesday, 18 December at the school premises. It starts at 12:00.
This year’s event is organised by the teachers and students of ZSOiZ in Bolesławiec.
Visitors will be able to buy and taste dishes such as: uszka; dumplings with cabbage, mushrooms, salmon and broad beans; fish pâté with bay boletes; cabbage kulebiak; fish dishes; gingerbread; fruitcakes, poppy-seed rolls, decorated gingerbread biscuits and other Christmas treats.
