[...] I recently moved into a rented apartment in Bolesławiec on Bielska Street, and after just a few days cockroaches started coming out.

And added:

At first we thought they might have been brought in boxes from the basement, but later it turned out that the entire [...] building was infested with these pests. Of course, reports were made to the administration. The stairwell was sprayed, but it did not help for long. [...]

You cannot live normally with such pests; they go everywhere they can when darkness falls. Now they are starting to come out during the day as well. One huge nightmare.

Beata Ślęzak, president of the Bolesławianka Housing Cooperative:

We recently inspected the basements in this building, but for other purposes, and did not notice any cockroaches. However, since they are present in this tenant’s apartment, after Sunday we will carry out a thorough inspection of the building’s common areas.

If we notice any insects, we will carry out pest control. We will also put up a notice in the stairwell asking tenants who have noticed signs of any vermin in their apartments to contact us.

B. Ślęzak adds:

However, under the regulations and the Act, the Cooperative is obliged to cover the costs of maintaining common areas. The apartment falls outside this scope.

If it turns out that the problem concerns only one apartment—and we have received only one such report—this gentleman will have to resolve the matter at his own expense.
