Miley Cyrus’s music video for the song “Wrecking Ball” remains the subject of memes and parodies to this day. The former idol of youngsters, completely naked, sits astride a wrecking ball and sings about unhappy love.
The ball was brought to Bolesławiec and put on display in the gallery at the entrance to the cinema hall. The most interesting part of this story is that there were supposedly several balls. Apparently, many of them were used while filming the music video because they exploded, unable to withstand the erotic tension during the shooting of multiple takes.
“The ball we brought to Bolesławiec lasted the longest under Miley’s bottom,” says Eryk Cowen, the exhibition curator and the person who came up with the idea of bringing the ball to the city of ceramics. “It fell apart into pieces only after the tenth take. When I found out there was a chance to show it in Bolesławiec, I decided to bring it here and create an installation from it, showing the power of feminine energy. It was even easier to transport in several pieces,” Cowen adds.
The ball was mounted in such a way as to show it in the process of falling apart.
